There is a high that comes with travel and it’s never easy to come back home. But coming home is even harder when you’re emotionally attached as well. A month ago we arrived in Australia to spend 3-weeks with my grandparents and to show Brady where I grew up. This trip has been a long time coming and it’s hard to believe that it’s now in the past. It’s been 4.5 years since the last time I saw my grandparents and as two of the dearest people to my heart, that’s an excruciatingly long time. I was initially sad we hadn’t gone with my dad, brother, and sister at Christmastime but now I’m thankful that the 3 of us got to spend our time at Gran and Pa’s with undivided attention. Henry really got a chance to fall in love with my grandparents and he formed such a sweet bond with them. I also feel like Brady got a chance to fall in love with my birth country.
